An Honest Insight into my First Year Blogging

So, I’ve finally found some time to do a blog post.

Today is the day… I’ve officially had my blog for a year and I couldn’t be happier this was the year I picked to start because it been the best, most crazy and exciting twelve months of my life, all 21 years of it.  I’m really hoping to do a post soon on a few things I’ve learnt over the duration of 2017 – BUT TODAY.. today I am doing a post on what I’ve learnt about blogging because let’s just say I’ve definitely made a few mistakes…and been lazy at times…and been busy or have had writer’s block but here are a few things I’ll say to you my dear friend,

I’ve tried so hard to keep my blog real and true to my personality that sometimes it got a little too close in the way that I do like to have a lot of down time and a lot of breaks and this is why you’ll find that I’ve often had long periods of time not having BLOGGED. WOOPS! Not great from me I know. Taking on the challenge of blogging, I found it very difficult to spend time taking photos everywhere I went and with everything that I did because when I didn’t have content, I didn’t post. You could argue this was a good thing, because I tried to justify it in the way that I didn’t just want to post average content for the sake of it. I really did want every post to be as best as I could have made it. But really a lot of the time I do enjoy photo taking and it’s definitely something I going to look to do more of this year because commitment really is so key!

Another thing I’ve learnt, is that you don’t have to blog the way others expect you to blog or the way that most blogs will have been done. I don’t have an Instagram promoting my blog just yet because I feel like a lot of blogs on social media are so unbelievably similar with constant product photos all on marble backgrounds a lot of the time for instance, that I would rather just share my life in photos and hopefully that’s a more interesting approach! Don’t add any pressure on yourself to make your blog look identical, just go about it how you wish.

OK.. WHAT IS MY ARM DOING

Lastly, before this post gets too long, blogging friends are bloody awesome. The amount of support and love you get from people you’ve never met is incredible and I’m trying my best to maintain friendships on here and especially build new relationships with anyone that wants to SO be a gem and link your blog post below because I’d love to read more blogs and posts or just find me on Instagram which I’ve linked below 🙂 Never take any of your followers for granted folks because they’re the bomb.

There’s definitely a lot more to come in 2018 because I’m so glad this little space of mine on the internet is still with me to document everything that happens this year!! There’s definitely a lot of spicing up that needs to be done like more organised posts and a NEW THEME but more on that later hehe

Just as a little side note..I got a GoPro for Christmas this year so definitely expect some vlogs somewhere down the line. wooooo! ALSO – I really want to start doing those “if we were having a coffee” posts because I have little updates on things all the time that I’d love to share and I think that’s the best way about it – just throwing ideas out 😉
