You Don’t Have to be Pretty Like Her

Hellooo beautifuls!

I thought I would do a short, sweet post for you all in case it helps anyone out today 🙂

For as long as I can remember, I used to be the girl that always compared herself to other people. If a girl was prettier, had a better body or a more beautiful face, for the rest of the day I would feel ugly. It sounds ridiculous I know, but I used to be really harsh on myself in regards to things like this. I would look for validation from other people to make myself feel better and I can’t express to you how awful it was to feel like this. It didn’t seem like a big problem at the time, it just seemed normal to me to be that insecure in the presence of Instagram and all the mags etc.

About two years ago, I came across this quote which spoke volumes to me

I was always seeing the beauty in other people around me and as a result always saw it absent in me. After going through everything that I have over the last two years, the amount that I have learnt is unexplainable. You hear this everyday but everyone is different and unique and even people like Gigi Hadid (who is LIFE), will have her insecurities, so there’s no point in wishing you were anyone else! The best way is to remind yourself that there are a thousand things unique to you that people will and DO love you for.

I’ve also reached the point in my life where I understand that inevitably, there are going to be people who dislike you and this my friend, is not your problem. Other people don’t dictate your value and worth. That’s not up to them. This quote is all about knowing that your beauty and worth doesn’t decrease in the presence of other people.

That, my friends, is your little reminder today to be happy, love everything about yourself, smile!!!, and know that you don’t have to be pretty like everyone else, you can be just be pretty like you❤
