Thanks to my parents, on the day of my actual birthday, I was lucky enough to fly to Paris for the weekend with my boyfriend 🙂 This is going to be a super long post so get comfyyy y’allllll!!!!

*SIDE NOTE* If you can’t be bothered to read this whole thing – I’ve attached a link at the bottom of this post of a little attempt at a vlog we tried to do, so just watch that instead hehe ❤

I woke up on my birthday at my boyfriend’s house and I came downstairs in my pyjamas to find a gorgeous cake on the table.

We started the day off with presents of course and I was so lucky to have gotten such amazing gifts this year. Two of my best friends bought me a BECCA highlight and brush – which (although not a beauty blogger) I’m definitely feeling a review post soon because I love it so much – and also a Pandora charm. The charm was so gorgeous and it was one of the Pisces charms for my star sign!

His mum had so kindly given me a present as well which was tooooo sweet but it had finally come to my boyfriend’s present – he had put up post it’s all around the house that morning with hilarious and ridiculous little clues on them that eventually led me all around the house and then finally to my present! It was a hamper with loads and loads of my favourite things like Yankee candles, my favourite chocolates, flowers, a little teddy bear, and so much more – until I finally got to the bottom and there was a little Tiffany box. I started crying at this point because it was the Tiffany necklace I’ve wanted since I was about 16!!

IMG_4311.JPGSo this morning had been so beyond perfect – and on top of all this we were heading to Paris later today!

About 11:30am we were given a lift by his mum to Gatwick airport. We got a Wagamamas when we got there and we were having such a chilled, happy lunch until we heard an announcement that went “Easyjet flight at 1:55pm to Paris – please make your way to gate 104 as this is your final call” – BARE IN MIND we were miles away from the gate thinking we were boarding at 1:55pm.. NOT actually DEPARTING! So my boyfriend grabbed both our bags and we ran faster than we had ever run before – side stepping people, jumping over children, bashing away obstacles..until we finally made it to the gate, completely out of breath and although we were last on the plane.. we made it. Paris here we come!! Luckily I had prepaid for seats otherwise we definitely would not have been sat together.

Everything ran so smoothly, our Paris Shuttle transfers were there when we arrived and it took us straight to our hotel. It was quite funny because we had to share our transfer with two other couples which was BEYOND awkward but alas,  we got to our hotel after about 50 minutes. We stayed at the stunning Sydney Opera Hotel – I had learnt that all hotel rooms in Paris were tiny so I just tried to find the one with the best reviews off Expedia. This place was perfect for our three night stay – we were in walking distance of every landmark and the cleanness and service were more than what you could ask for. We ended up talking to the receptionist for ages every time we walked in and out, he was so nice!!

We checked in about 7pm and once we were all settled in, went for dinner at about 9pm. The receptionist had kindly recommended to us a French restaurant about a 10 minute walk away. So we strolled down the streets of Paris at night – which was such a dream – to this little restaurant called Saint Augustin. IMG_4003.jpgIMG_4029.jpg

We treated ourselves to steak and a Caesar salad to start and it was the best Caesar salad I’ve ever had in my life – it had boiled eggs in it.. like who would’ve thought aye?!! And of course our deserts afterwards… 😋 We headed back to the hotel after this and got ready for bed in preparation for the big day we had ahead tomorrow 🙂

We got up early this morning to make sure we could take full advantage of the weekend. Our hotel was a 20 minutes walk away from the Arc De Triomphe so that’s where we headed first. We walked through the Champs-Élysées to get there which is one of Paris’ most famous shopping streets and it was so stunning. It had massively wide, terraced pavements which had café’s running all down it. So with the Arc de Triomphe in sight, we stopped for breakfast and had a coffee and some croissants and the sweetest café called Flora Danica.  IMG_4085.jpg

We headed to the Arc de Triomphe and little travel tip for you here – if you’re living in the EU and under 24, you can go to the top for free! Standing at the top, I was nearly blown off but it was so worth being able to see the Eiffel Tower in the distance. Although a pre-WARNING!!! There are approximately two bagillion steps to get to the top – with no stoppage room to take breaks

but HELLOOOO!!!!!! WORTH IT!!!

From here it was only about a 20 minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower. Literally we got there by just following it in the distance and walking in that direction, it was pretty funny to be fair! Because when you’re walking and the Eiffel Tower disappears behind a building you get so confused haha!! We stopped for lunch before this (after having walked around for a bit) at another little café, which I’ve just realised looks exactly the same as the first restaurant we went for dinner lol – This café had the cutest bulldog that would just collapse on your leg under the table and he was just so fat, I loved him.

We were pretty bewildered (is that the right word??) when we eventually got to the Eiffel Tower because I mean LOOK! We wanted to go all the way to the top and again it was free for us! Otherwise it would’ve been 17 euros each. Queues were so long to get to the top and it was so cold the higher up we went.. (OBVIOUSLY jo..). But we kept ourselves warm by stuffing our faces with hotdogs which were the absolute bomb.

IMG_4113.jpg But this was the view from the top – I could barely hold my phone up because I was terrified I was going to drop it, my hands started to sweat!! IMG_4121.jpgIMG_4127.jpg

After undertaking this crazy endeavour to the summit of the tower we headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner as it was about 5pm by this point!

We very naughtily ubered it back to the Champs-Élysées for dinner, where my boyfriend treated me to an overly expensive dinner. IMG_4137.jpg

I was just about to end this day here… when I REMEBERED !! We went for drinks after dinner and the ambience of this place was great.. dimly lit.. red furniture.. really cosy.. and then I start to smell something.. something really strong.. in my peripherals I could see a sort of flame..? And then I realised my hair was on fire… yes ladies and gentlemen.. my hair caught on fire from the candle on the table. My boyfriend didn’t even see it and kept asking me why I was screaming and flailing my arms about. MOST EMBRASSING THING EVER!!!

Ok now I can end the day hehe

Having woken up early today.. we embarked to The Louvre.

OBUF6732.jpgWe were again, in walking distance (about 25 minutes) and when we got there lined up straight away to get in. Again, it was free for us, all we had to do was show our ID’s 🙂 We could’ve looked at the art in there forever and we were only in one of the wings of the entire thing. This place was MASSIVE! IMG_4148.jpgIMG_4156.jpg

There were loads of signs to the Mona Lisa, which was essentially the main reason we were there. But the signs were on poles that kept being turned, so we were walking round all over the place haha!! We eventually found it and it was the only painting or sculpture in the entire thing to be in a bullet proof glass.

This was like a literal essential to do in Paris – luckily it closed at 6pm on a sunday so we had so much fun hanging round there for ages until we then grabbed some lunch.

Yes I am aware this is like the least French lunch ever –  but we were hungry!!! Oh yes and I bought a crepe.IMG_4184.JPGAfter this we headed over to the padlock bridge 🙂 Which we walked over to, and it was just the nicest walk down along the river Seine. IMG_4173.jpg

The original bridge had all it’s padlocks removed in 2015, so I guess this was the new place to be. Not so much a bridge but more a section along side the river. There were people there selling padlocks and passing round marker pens so we were all sorted!

Later that day we walked over to the Notre Dam which was just absolutely stunning, both inside and outside!! We walked in and my boyfriend literally went “what even is the Notre Dam..” MASSSSIVEE EYEROOLLLLL

Time to go home 😦 Our airport transfer wasn’t until 3:30pm today so we spent the morning getting breakfast again at Flora Danica because we had enjoyed it so much the other day! And then walking over to the Eiffel Tower for one last time before we had to go. We sat just by it eating Nutella Crepes and slowly walked back to the Champs-Élysées for lunch. ALL we seem to do is eat but this was our last day we had to take advantage!

Here a small vlog we did over the weekend 🙂 Evidently we have no idea how to do it properly but hopefully you enjoy nonetheless ❤
